Now in the spirit of Jack Bower season, and the closing of Guantanamo Bay, and the actual president coming out and making statements about 'human rights', i have a question that is on my mind.
The United States does not negotiate with terrorist (we have heard that in 8/1o movies) but, the United States does not condone Torture either.
So should I condemn someone for torturing a terrorist if it in turns allows me to gain valuable Intel into what my enemies are planning to do against me and my country?
Extremist are not using the same play book nor do they value the same set of rules that we do. You say ill arrest you and question you and hope that you give me the info that i want, when they are ready to DIE just to bring down Hundreds and Thousands of Innocent lives? So you are going to give someone a life sentence or death sentence for crimes against humanity when they were already ready to die? Where is the punishment? Did you get any information out of them that would help you understand what they want to do?
We preach the value of human rights and the confidence in our judicial system. I know i do not want my rights to be violated, just b/c im black does not mean that im a criminal. Just b/c i know some goons doesnt mean I know what the goons are planning to do. So, where do you draw the line? Is it ok to sacrifice one to save a thousand?? Can you condone the killing of bad guy to save 10,000 innocent? Now, can you condone the killing of one innocent to save the lives of 10,000 more innocent. Where is that line??
