Rupert Murdoch vs. Al Sharpton (and others)

There has been rumblings and arguments in the last few days about this "Monkey" Cartoon. Now I as do most people found that to be highly offensive, Very Insensitive, Extremely disrespectful, and borderline Racist. HOWEVER ... all this talk of people should be fired and the gov't should step in is absolutely absurd!!!

Just in case everyone forgot, this is a "great" country because an idiot like that has the right to print and say what he wants. You got one and a half apologies out of him, you can boycott him, you can protest against him. But No One has the right to fire him! We have all said some offensive things, especially about the Ex President, but just b/c he was disliked and Obama is soo loved, does not mean talking about Bush is ok, and Obama isnt. Im not saying the jokes ppl said about Bush is equal to the disrespect put forth in that cartoon. However, just like you had the right to post it in your blogs and run in your papers, this Idiot Murdoch has the same exact rights. Be careful of what you ask for, b/c the law is the law for a reason.

McCain tries to get at Obama on Spending!!

THESE REPUBLICANS ARE TRYING SOOOO HARD TO DO HIM DIRTY .... BUT HE JUST BRUSHES HIS SHOULDERS OFF WITH SUCH EASE!!!! I MUST ADMIT ... OLD BOY IS SMOOTH!

Obama addressing Congress Tonight...

He is addressing congress and the Nation not only on the stimulus plan he has put forth but also, Health care and Energy tonight at 9pm Eastern!

The Republicans have been giving old boy a really hard time with this stimulus plan, but it seems like their plan is working against them. Cool as Fan Obama has a very good approval rate right now or over 60% and the country seems to be down on the Republicans they have an approval of a little over 20%

Im thinking ... This is just a thought, but how about they try less at their attempts to destroy everything this man puts forth, and maybe just maybe try to do something constructive with their time come up with their own ideas, or at least TRY to seem civil. But who am I?? Im no Politician, i only know what MSNBC and FOX News tells me.

NY POST BOYCOTT

I received like 12 of these Boycott Email Fwds today

Dear Friend, Yesterday, the day after President Obama signed his stimulus bill into law, the NY Post ran a cartoon depicting the bill's "author" as a dead monkey, covered in blood after being shot by police. You can see the image by clicking on the link below.

In the face of intense criticism, the Post's editor is standing by the cartoon, claiming that it's not about Obama, has no racial undertones, and that it was simply referencing a recent incident when police shot a pet chimpanzee. But it's impossible to believe that any newspaper editor could be ignorant enough to not understand how this cartoon evokes a history of racist symbolism, or how frightening this image feels at a time when death threats against President Obama have been on the rise.

Please join me and other ColorOfChange.org members in demanding that the Post apologize publicly and fire the editor who allowed this cartoon to go to print:

http://www.colorofchange.org/nypost/?id=2182-434501The

Post would have us believe that the cartoon is not about Obama. But on the page just before the cartoon appears, there's a big picture of Obama signing the stimulus bill. A reader paging through the Post would see Obama putting pen to paper, then turn the page to see this violent cartoon. The imagery is chilling.

There is a clear history in our country of racist symbolism that depicts Black people as apes or monkeys, and it came up multiple times during the presidential campaign.

We're also in a time of increased race-based violence. In the months following President Obama's election there has been a nationwide surge in hate crimes ranging from vandalism to assaults to arson on Black churches. There has been an unprecedented number of threats against President Obama since he was elected, with hate-based groups fantasizing about the killing of the president. Just a week ago, a man drove from Louisiana to the Capitol with a rifle, telling the police who stopped him that he had a "delivery" for the president.

There is no excuse for the Post to have allowed this cartoon to be printed, and even less for Editor Col Allan's outright dismissal of legitimate concerns.

But let's be clear who's behind the Post: Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch, the Post's owner, is the man behind FOX News Channel. FOX has continually attacked and denigrated Black people, politicians, institutions at every opportunity, and ColorOfChange has run several campaigns to make clear how FOX poisons public debate.

I don't expect much from Murdoch. However, with enough public pressure, we can set the stage for advertisers and subscribers to think long and hard before patronizing outlets like the Post that refuse to be held accountable.

You can help, by making clear that the Post's behavior is unacceptable, and by asking your friends and family to do the same. Please join me:

A Pussy won't destroy your face

The 14-year-old chimpanzee latched onto Nash's face and tore it apart. The victim's injuries were reportedly gruesome; the head paramedic who treated her on the scene told the New York Times that he had "never seen anything this dramatic on a living patient."

Why would you have a 200lb lyme diseased - computer using - knife toating chimp roaming around ya house?

Why does that make sense??

But who am I to judge right EQ. Maybe ill get a rhino like those pedigree dog adoption commercials, lol

GIORGIO ARMANI STORE OPENS TODAY!!

FEB. 17th from 6-8p

Mr. Armani will be greeting guests. Personally. And we've all seen the Posh and Becks ads. You know they'll be there.Giorgio Armani is coming to the most celebrated street in New York. Arguably the biggest party event this fashion week.

Fifth Avenue has been the focal point of many contemporary and historical events, and has featured in novels such as Edith Whartonʼs The Age of Innocence, and countless films in which its most famous buildings such as the Empire State Building or the New York Public Library have played a major part.

As for the museums, there are so many that the section that fronts Central Park is known as Museum Mile. Giorgio Armani said “a really exciting challenge - that is how I would describe our new concept store, Armani/5th Avenue in New York. It is a special project requiring a degree of courage, as it brings together in one space different elements such as Armani Jeans and Emporio Armani side by side with Giorgio Armani.

I was determined to send out a clear message of change, interpreting the current trend for mixing genres, juxtaposing items in different price brackets. You could say that this is a provocative move - uniting in the same place and with the same furnishings, without visible boundaries, the various collections that combine to form the entire Armani universe.

This freedom of expression defines for me the spirit of Fifth Avenue: a prestigious shopping destination, of course, but one that is less exclusive in character than comparable addresses, with a democratic mood which I am certain represents the future. I worked on the creation of this store with Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas, whose hugely respected architectural practice is known for bringing a precisely judged sense of glamour to clothing stores.

This is the third project we have jointly accomplished, following on from Armani/Chater House in Hong Kong and Armani/Ginza Tower in Tokyo, and significantly all three offer totally distinctive environments, each different from the other, because I contend that identical retail spaces, monolithic and repetitive, belong in the past and cannot match the experience offered by a totally original store which introduces the public to the aesthetic excitement of fine contemporary architecture.”

IM NOT A D!CK -- IM JUST HARD PRESSED FOR SOMETHING ELSE ...

Many people that know of me or even know me well would probably attest to the fact that I quite possibly may not be the most humble person they have come in contact with.

HOWEVER .... I am a New Yorker, and if anything i have learned from being in NYC is that you must, and i repeat must give everyone a fair shake b/c you never know who the fhuk might be trying to converse with you, or what opportunites may lie infront of you. You must always think you are better than your competition or perceived competition, but you must always have some form of humility about you. I do believe that i have that.

So im headed to Bar 89, one of my old favorites (i say old, b/c it has been infested by the mass exodus of gen pop who shop on Broadway and Canal) because my friend was in the mood for one of their immaculate chocolate martini's. If you dont know, this place makes the best Martini's in nYc. If you want to contest that fact, see me at the bar. Anyway .... I walk in and I see some dudes that do simular things that I do, but on a different scene and in BK. We spark up a conversation and while doing so, I had a moment ... It came to me that EVERYONE has a role to play. We do what we do because its prob the best of only option for us. I dont take anything away from a person who does their thing in BK (on a large scale) -- to be honest, it would be very difficult for me to do what they do. Likewise, it would be very difficult for them to do what i do ... Now, this is my dude, we cool, he hits me, i tell him whats good In the city, I invite him out all the time, he is part of that from the hood, but the hood doesnt define me crew. I just know there are certain things and places i just dont frequent or attend. So, im not saying im too good to do that BK thing, that would be a little inaccurate b/c im not too for any hood, i came from the hood. However, Im no longer in that place of my life where that is entertaining to me. If i keep looking back, im not going to be able to move forward as fast as I want ... YA DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG!!!!

But thats why I love BK -- we have everyone here. Best Borough In NYC Baby!!!

TALK TO ME!!!

So, I'm sitting here on this couch at 745am (not drunk) having a nice cold refreshing Blue Moon, and I'm trying to remember this blog that came to head last night as I left the little bodega on Jazzo's old block (Bleeker and Broadway) and its not coming o me. Something told me as I walked down the street with the beer in my hand that I should write this down bc I will forget, but I didn't :( anyway, I digress.

So I'm sitting here thinking to myself, I had a really good talk with my ace yesterday. We "talk" like 2 or 3 times a month but I love this gyal bc she always keeps it funky with me, and I appreciate that more than anything.

Anyway, I realized that there are about 4 ppl in this country that I actually "Talk" to! I speak to just about everyone because of what I do, but there are very few ppl that I "Talk" to -- people might say 4 is a large number or a small number, but put this in perspective. I have a blackberry with approximately (actually hold on) Exactly 2119 contacts and a bbm list 326 ppl. So my pool is much larger than the avg. So to me, that's a small number. I'm a very public and outgoing person, but my personal business is (for the most part) kept very quiet, and that's what I like.

So a big thank you to Mprs, PeMe, EQ, & Casper. I can honestly call Jazzo, Weezy, Scoob, Jeru, Mickey, A-Dub and the Dark Knight my friends, but life has taken us on different paths where we no longer converse like we used to, but I know I can always holla if I need to.

So anyway, my Ace told me last night I should have been a Politician (for reason unrelated to this blog), and I said yea, your right, and I just realized she was even more right, because I'm probably the most Private Public Figure (yes, I said public figure, deal with it, lol) that most of you know! ;) So, i said all that to ask ... How many people do you talk to???

Happy Fake Monday, just behind Hump Day!!!

WHERE ARE THE RATCHETS!!!!

SOOOO....

I CANT EVEN TAKE CREDIT FOR THIS STORY ...

But on the drive back into BROOKLYN .... my dude started telling me this story, and i found it absolutely HILARIOUS!!!!!

Anyway .... so on a trip back from the city my dudes got pulled over by some pigs and while thier flashlights were out and the hands on their handguns ... the FIRST thing they said to my dude after they pulled him over was .... "where are the ratchets" ????

HUH???

Where are the ratchets???

NOT ... LICENSE AND REGISTRATION...

NOT ... WHERE ARE YOU GUYS COMING FROM ...

NOT ... DO YOU KNOW WHY I PULLED YOU OVER ..

BUT .. "WHERE ARE THE RATCHETS"

Now, my dude drives a mean looking all white 750 BMW ... he is dark skin and his dude (drives a matching 750 in gray) is a long dread Haitian!! Anyway, i guess the pigs saw them (prob zoomin across the manhattan bridge) and automatically thought they were some goons and tried to get a"big break" by pulling them over.

Anyway, upon the "where are the ratchets" comment they squinched up their faces, figured out what the cops were talking about and then ... "ohhhhhh in the trunk"

so they popped the trunk so the cops could see that it was nothing but a change of clothes and about 10,000 party fliers!! STUPID COPS WENT LOOKING IN THE DAMN TRUNK!!!!

HOW DO YOU PULL SOMEONE OVER AND ASK ... " SO WHERE ARE THE RATCHETS"

if i had a gun, burner, toast, hammer, or "ratchet", do you think i tell you where they are????

STUPID AZZ FUCKIN COPS!!!!

$789 BILLION TO DO WHAT???

Negotiators have resolved the differences between the House and Senate versions of the stimulus bill, Sen. Harry Reid said Wednesday.
Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Nebraska, played a key role in negotiations.

"The bills were really quite similar, and I'm pleased to announce that we've been able to bridge those differences," said Reid, the Senate majority leader.

"Like any negotiation, this involved give and take, and if you don't mind my saying so, that's an understatement," he said.

Negotiators worked late into the night to iron out differences between the two versions of the stimulus bill.

President Obama said he wanted the bill on his desk by Presidents Day, which is next Monday.

Reid praised the three "brave" GOP senators who broke ranks to the support the bill: Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine and Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania. Video Watch Reid describe the deal »

Of the 219 Republicans in Congress, they were the only three to back the bill.

"Today we have shown that, working together, we can address the enormous economic crisis facing our country," Collins said.

Collins said the agreement has a price tag of $789 billion, less than both the House and Senate versions.

Reid said this middle ground creates more jobs than original Senate bill, and spends less than the original House bill.

Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Nebraska, summed up the bill as a "jobs bill."

"Today you might call us the 'jobs squad,' " said Nelson, one of the key negotiators. "Because that's what we're attempting to do: to make sure that people will have the opportunity to hang on to their jobs that they have today, and they'll be able to get jobs if they lose their jobs."

Multiple Democratic sources had offered details on topics that had to be worked out:

- 35 percent of the bill would be tax cuts; 65 percent would be spending.

- Tax breaks for workers that had been set at $1,000 per family or $500 per individual would be scaled back to $800 per family and $400 per individual.

- $44 billion in aid to states, including money for education and other services.

- More funding to help people buy health insurance through the federal COBRA program.

- $6 billion to $9 billion for modernizing and repairing schools.

The funding for schools is intended to assuage House Democrats who are upset that the Senate cut $20 billion for school construction.

Killer Peanut Butter!!

The food manufacturer, Peanut Corp. of America, has just a few plants scattered across the South, but it may be responsible for one of the nation's largest food recalls in history.

Federal investigators on Friday said the Lynchburg, Va.-based company knowingly shipped salmonella-laced products from its Blakely, Ga., plant after tests showed the products were contaminated. Federal law forbids producing or shipping foods under conditions that could make it harmful to consumers' health.

So far, the salmonella outbreak has sickened about 575 people in 43 states and may have contributed to at least NINE deaths. The Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation and more than 1,550 products have been recalled.

The company has denied any wrongdoing, but said it is investigating.

SHOULD I TOUCH HER????

AND I DONT MEAN SEXUALLY ....

So this question has been haunting, well not haunting, but on my mind recently. I want to know when is it, or is it ever ok to put your hands on a female?

Contemporary wisdom says never, its never ok to put your hands on a female, but I have seen and heard some things recently that have made me question this. I myself do not advocate any violence towards women, however i also dont condone women who get out of pocket and do too much. If you want to act like a dude, then dont you deserve the treatment a dude would get??

I myself can honestly say that i have put my hand on a women once ... kinda twice. Elementary school bully wanted to take my lunch and i had to punch her in her fat ass stomach and let her know that wasnt going down. Also recently, i had a situation in the club that i was not proud of, but damn sure not ashamed of or didnt feel i was wrong. The latter was less of a hit, and kind of a disrespectful snuff.

Anyway, if a woman hits you, are you not supposed to defend yourself or retaliate? If you walk in on her doing something / someone and it aint you is he wrong to swing? If a dude comes out his face and disrespects you are is it not ok to knock his ass out? Then why is it not ok to do the same to a chick? If you want to call people out their name screaming on the top of your lungs and being wild disrespectful, why cant i knock your ass out?

They say a dude who hits a woman is a punk, but a dude who sits back and takes disrespect is what? An Adult? A grown up? The bigger person? Is it ever ok, and if feel like your actions were ok (justified) in doing it, should you say sorry??

?

Find LOVE before you claim to be IN LOVE

So I was having a convo with my homie the other day and I must tell you my friends are fucking hilarious!!! I don't claim to be the smartest dude on earth, but I'm like in the 95th percentile when it comes to knowing what to do in this relationship shyt.

Have you ever had to explain to someone that they are not in love with you?? Actually, let me also ask this, do you fall in love with someone 1st or Love them. I myself can't grasp how you "FALL IN LOVE"
With someone before you "LOVE" them 1st, but these are the conversations I have to have with my ppls! LoL

TO ME - I find LOVE to be more of a proximity and familiarity thing. Over time people become familiar, you start to love them for who they are, you start to appreciate them for what they mean to you. So this is more like family or that guy/girl you been dealing with for a while

TO ME - FALLING IN LOVE is a whole different thing.. I prob can't accurately explain exactly how and why I feel IN LOVE is so different, b/c I dnt think I have ever been IN LOVE and I dnt think many of you have either. I really think yall just like to say shyt like that because it feels right or your situation is better than what you had before (when you thought you were in love again, lol) - Just my opinion!

Anyway, IN LOVE is the fairy tale version of the reality. Most people don't FALL IN LOVE, they just LOVE or worst SETTLE (THAT DREADFUL WORD). I'm a firm believer that IN LOVE is my equivalent to the perfect storm. All the stars have to align, this person is exactly what you wanted, does exactly what your like with few exceptions, loves you for who you are and want to be, and even if it doesn't work out. That shyt just doesn't happen anymore! So most don't know what IN LOVE is, we are just so used to fucked up situations that whatever is better than what we came out of, we feel like its the best thing ever!
