CAME TO A FORK IN THE ROAD AND WENT ......

There is always ONE major decision in everyones life that totally altered the route your life went. The decision could have been bad, good, or neutral! I'm curious as to what that decision was in your life!

My Major decision was to not return to my boarding school for my senior year, and come to nyc to finish high school! This choice single handedly changed my whole life drastically, because 90% of my current life is directly correlated to my college life . If I didn't change HS's my College choice would have been drastically different.

If I didn't leave my boarding school I would have prob been an Ivy League Grad from Brown or Harvard! Some might think that is better than having a degree from University at Buffalo, but not soooo fast. If it wasn't for Buffalo, I might be a 9-5 (_!_) cooperate dude stressing if I'm about to get laid off. I might not have ever started my concierge company, def would not have been a part of Showcase Ent, and these are the things that make me who I am today. I love my life, but I always wonder about what might have been.

I'm curious as to your decisions, it would tell me a little about who is reading my crazy rants and Why is my crazy (_!_) so entertaining to you, lol

I don't know if I've hit that crossroads yet, but...I do know that if I didn't go to VI's boarding school (I was a country bumpkin' from a town of 800 people) I wouldn't have known so many people of different races, cultures, languages, etc., I wouldn't have fallen in love with the Spanish language, so I wouldn't have met my Colombian husband, and I wouldn't go home each night to an amazing, little bundle of love of a baby that fills me up with things I never knew I needed. But...you guys are all party people, so you probably don't want to hear about babies. Just wanted to let you know, VI, that I check in daily to see what's on your mind.

School is always a big one... but for me (of course) I have so many choices that affected my life... and this helps me to realize how blessed I am, because I have always been protected... since about 14 I've been on my own... so all decisions were made by me... and shit could have hit the fan many times and it would all be different.

I will ride out on your coat tail with this one though and say college choice... I was going to study Forensics instead I chose fashion... clear left or right... but I don't think about how it would have been different... I only think about how it still can be different from this point on...

Maybe your decision was to actaully go to New Hampton.

Maybe your decision was to take spanish instead of French.

Maybe your decision was to stay at New Hampton.

Maybe it was to attend the college you did.

But at some point, i think one single decision that you made personally definately changed the route your life took.

Thank You for reading daily, and no everyone is not a party person, just like good reads.

Forensics or Fashion ...

Yea thats a decission.

Do you think you could have still had your love for Fashion still doing forensics? Or are they two totally separate worlds that just couldnt be touched?

PARDON THE TYRA MOMENT:
if i stayed in my HS, i wouldnt be the person i am today. Totally different circle of friends (NONE OF WHICH LIVE IN NEW YORK), totally different life choice.Vegas might have never came to fruition, just DG!

I think I've had a couple of these moments...and, one of them led me here to "Black Hollywood" lol... Which has taught me to be a kinder, more considerate, and much, much, much more patient person...

my decision was similar to yours Vegas. I decided to go to a historically black college. Most might not think this is so "off the wall" (because i'm black lol) but let me explain.

i went to a predominately asian pre school...predominately white middle school & high school...and then decided to attend a historically black college.

Greatest thing that ever happened to my life! I was in a real life, extended scene of drum line lmao...

good times!!

Besides school, I would say a life changing "fork in the road" was the decision to not study abroad in Rome (in high school). I had the oppurtunity to do so for a whole year (free of charge), and I think had I done so, I would have had more of an appreciation for worldy matters and issues at an earlier age, and more culturally diverse...I probably would have also went to a different college that catered to international studies.

To this day, I hate I didn't go.

Never really thought of something like this...

I don't doubt that there will be a another life altering decision I will have to make in life, as I am only 24 but for now I'd have to say making the decision to have my daughter when I was 19 definitely changed my life.

That decision prevented me from going away to college, instead I stayed in NY and graduated from John Jay. I couldn't go out as much as I wanted to and even more important, I couldn't travel as much as I wanted to. Yeah, she's older now, so I am able to go out and travel more, but I still have to be cognizant of everything I do or anywhere I go.

Another decision that changed my life [a little], was making the choice to go to a public high school after my parents were adamant on keeping me in private schooling. Had I not went to a public high school, I probably wouldn't have been exposed to a lot and I would've never joined the Co-Op Program junior year at John Dewey HS, would have never gotten a job in the Insurance industry at the age of 16 and worked my way up to where I am in the company now.

Your rants are crazy indeed, that's just who you are.

"WHO'S LIFE IS THIS" IS A QUESTION WE ASK OURSELVES EVERYDAY. CUZ IF WE DIDN'T GO TO JAMAICA LAST JUNE FOR A WEDDING, WE WOULD HAVE NEVER MET OUR LANDLORD AND MOVED TO THE BX 2 MONTHS LATER.

IF WE DIDN'T LISTEN TO THE RADIO THAT DAY AND DECIDE TO GO TO A HOT 97 AFTERWORK PARTY, WE WOULD HAVE NEVER MET SC AND THEN EVERYBODY ELSE.

ITS STILL UNKNOWN WHATS TO HAPPEN AND WHO YOU WILL MEET AND HOW THEY OR WHAT WILL ALTER YOUR LIFE DECISIONS. I TOLD MY FRIEND...."SOMETIMES PEOPLE COME INTO YOUR LIFE AND YOU KNOW RIGHT AWAY THAT THEY ARE MEANT TO BE THERE, THEY SERVE SOME KIND OF PURPOSE, TEACH A LESSON, HELP YOU GROW, FIGURE OUT WHO YOU ARE". WE CAN'T WAIT TO FACE WHATS TO HAPPEN NEXT...LOOKING FOWARD TO IT!!

No absolutely not, the study of fashion, trends, fabric, dye, the whole thing is different than seeing a shoe or dress that you "love"... I mean I still watch all those forensic shows on cable but to say that my love for it now would be the same as if I had studied it, lived it, and breathed it for 4 years would be a lie I think... But as I said earlier, I'm still looking forward to the future...and future forks... Because the dinner choices are spectacular!!! Lol

Whoa. This one was deep. There are definitely single decisions I made that I think affected my entire life and I wonder if I could go back if I would have made the same decision. Hmm. Something we may have to talk about over Patron LOL.
